He was came to America before the Rev. War and was bound out as a servant for seven years to pay for his passage to America. John ran away and enlisted in the Army. He spent the winter of 1773-74 at Valley Forge, PA with General George Washington. Peter lived in Dauphin Co. PA for several years.

(5). Johann Rodebaugh b. Nov 21, 1792 Dauphine Co. PA d. 1838 Summit Co. Ohio m. Polly Baugman. She was born Northumberland Co. PA d. 1867 Summit Co. Ohio. 

John learned the trade of shoemaker. He married young and lived in Clearfield, Centre Co. PA. 

He moved to Medina Co. Ohio about 1830 with two other families. It took eighteen days by teams. They settled on a track of land in Buckeye Twp. clearing the land for a farm. They lived there for the next five years.  He took a contract to complete one mile of the railroad being constructed in West Point Twp. This took six months. In 1855 he purchased land in Winslow Twp and lived on it until 1863. He then moved to Davis Co. IN where he lived for ten months. He returned to Winslow and bought a farm and lived there until about 1869 when he sold it. Next he bought a hotel in Winslow which he operated for about ten years.

Anna  lists the birth state of both her parents as New York.
